  • •Not collected: tires, carpet, wood and fencing, construction and demolition debris, and hazardous waste.

Dropping it off

  • •SPSA's Chesapeake Transfer Station at 901 Hollowell Lane — the city calls it the Greenbrier transfer station — takes resident drop-offs with proof of residency.
  • •Residents get 12 free drop-offs per calendar year; after that the city lists $78 per ton with a $20 minimum.
